Gerald La Touche holds a Masters of Arts Degree (2:1) International Relations: International Political Economy; International Law and Organizations; Globalization and Governance, from the University of Birmingham, England, United Kingdom of Great Britain.
Gerald La Touche has over two decades work experience in the British Civil Service working in Government Departments and in Regional Economic Development. As Regional Economic Strategy Manager, La Touche played an integral role working with UK Trade and Investment and the Regional Chamber of Commerce to attract Foreign Direct Investment in the British West Midlands region, while working with business and other partners and stakeholders to market the region and sell its goods and services overseas. La Touche’s last years in the British Civil Service was in the role of International Trade Adviser, supporting UK businesses towards their Internationalisation while also leading Trade Missions and representing the UK overseas.
La Touche has promoted the British West Midlands within the EU Common Market and made presentations on behalf of the Region to EU member countries. La Touche has contributed to Entrepreneurial Learning through the E-Teams and by partnering with member Countries in Europe to share best practice through the EU Interregional Entrepreneurial Teams (Interreg lll ), and hosting member nations in Birmingham City on behalf of the West Midlands region.
